I recently picked up a trip that had a layover in Tampa. Since my dad lives in central Florida, we were able to meet up to do one of our favorite things together.. ride roller coasters.
Luckily school was still in session so while there were more than a handful of field trips going on, Busch Gardens was more or less ours for the day.
It’s so cliche but roller coasters really are like life. Sometimes they’re so much more than you could have hoped for, sometimes they’re underwhelming. Sometimes they make you feel like you’re floating and other times you feel like you have the world on your shoulders.
But all the time, there’s going to be a point when you’re smiling and laughing and having fun. Whether that’s in the middle of a corkscrew twist or when the rides over, it will happen.
Sometimes things in life can seem to be crushing us, with pounds and pounds of pressure on our shoulders and what seems like no end in sight. But eventually, the pressure will let up, the train will crest that hill, and once again you’ll feel like you’re floating with no cares in the world.
My best advice — to you and to me — is remember that you won’t be bottoming out forever. Seek your people, find your group, and let them help you reach the top of your mountain.
